No signup. No subscription. No watermark. Just a background remover that works and then leaves you alone.
Every niche tool wants a monthly fee now. A background remover shouldn't cost $9 a month. Neither should the fourteen other apps you keep on a subscription just in case you need them twice a year.
We looked at the alternatives. They all do the same thing: hide the good result behind a paywall, watermark the free one, and hope you forget to cancel. The models they run are open source. You can download them yourself if you know where to look.
Remova runs the same models those paid tools use. It runs them in your browser when it can, and on a server when it can't. You upload a file, you wait a few seconds, you get a transparent PNG back. No account. No credit card. No usage counter that resets at midnight.
The bill for the servers is covered by ads on the tool page and an arcade on the support page. That's the entire business model. If it stops working, we'll tell you before we change anything drastic.
Next.js on Vercel for the frontend. A FastAPI service on Hugging Face for the model inference. Seven open source models including U2-Net, ISNet, BiRefNet, and Silueta. We don't own any of them. We just run them well.
