Photoroom has built an API on top of their consumer product. It works, but it is priced for teams that want the whole suite: background removal, background generation, shadow generation, text overlays. If your product only needs the segmentation mask, you are paying for the other features anyway.

Common questions
Do you support background generation or shadow generation?
No. This is a segmentation tool, not a compositing suite. You get the mask. Everything after that is up to your pipeline.
What about their mobile SDK?
This is a web API. If you need an on-device SDK, look at open source alternatives like the onnx-community models on Hugging Face.
Can I run this in my own infrastructure?
Not through this site. The models are open source, so you can deploy them yourself. This service is for teams that do not want to run their own GPUs.
