Alternative
A cheaper alternative to the remove.bg Zapier integration
The remove.bg Zapier integration is the standard way to add background removal to a no-code workflow. It works, but it has two costs stacked on top of each other: Zapier task usage and remove.bg API credits. For a workflow processing more than a few hundred images a month, this gets expensive quickly.
Open the toolWhy people look for an alternative
- —You pay Zapier per task and remove.bg per image. Two meters, one workflow.
- —Remove.bg API pricing is per credit, with credit tiers that escalate in blocks.
- —Rate limits on the free tier make low-volume tests unreliable.
- —Migrating to a new provider means rebuilding the Zap from scratch.
Running the same workflow with Remova
- 01Trigger your Zap as normal (Google Drive, Dropbox, form submission).
- 02Use a Webhook action to POST the image to the Remova endpoint.
- 03Receive the transparent PNG back in the same response.
- 04Continue the Zap with the returned file.
Zapier still charges for the Webhook step, but you are no longer paying per image. For workflows under a few thousand files a month, that is a meaningful difference.

Common questions
Can I keep my existing Zap and just swap the action?
Yes. Replace the remove.bg action with a Webhook POST and the rest of the Zap stays the same.
Does this work in Make and n8n too?
Any tool that can send an HTTP POST to a URL works. Make, n8n, Pipedream, and Zapier all support this.
What about error handling if the API goes down?
The API returns a clear status code and a JSON error body, so your Zap can retry on 5xx and fail loudly on 4xx.
