Steps

  1. 01

    Set up consistent lighting

Same lights, same positions, same background for every product. This is the single biggest factor in how professional the final listing looks.

  2. 02

    Shoot at high resolution

At least 2000 pixels on the longest side. Higher is better if you want to zoom.

  3. 03

    Batch process backgrounds

Use the tool in batches of 20 with White output for marketplace listings, or Transparent if you want to composite over mockups later.

  4. 04

    Crop and resize

Most marketplaces want square images. Use the editor's resize tool to crop to 1:1 and resize to the required dimensions.

  5. 05

    Check quality on a sample

Before uploading the whole batch, check a few images at full size. If edges are rough, reprocess with a different model.

  6. 06

    Upload to marketplaces

Each marketplace has its own upload flow. The images themselves work across all of them.

Tips

  • —Keep a folder of the original raw photos. If a marketplace changes its requirements, you can reprocess from the source.
  • —Do not over-process. If the natural background is fine for a lifestyle shot, keep it.
  • —Same product different angles should all be processed with the same model for consistency.
  • —For products with fabric or fur, individual processing with hair preservation is worth the extra time.

Common questions

What resolution should I export at?

2000x2000 for marketplaces that support zoom. 1000x1000 is the minimum for most.

Should I keep the originals?

Yes. Store the unprocessed originals somewhere safe. You may need them later.

How do I handle returns and re-shoots?

Same workflow. Shoot, batch process, upload. Consistency makes the re-shoot indistinguishable from the original.
