Guide

Etsy product photos without the busy background

Process your photos in batches with either Transparent or White output, then re-upload to Etsy listings.

Steps

  1. 01

    Pick your background style

Pure white for a clean look. Transparent if you want to composite over a mockup background later. Subtle colour for vintage shops.

  2. 02

    Batch process your listings

20 at a time. Same settings for every batch.

  3. 03

Check the edges on textured products

Knitwear, ceramics, and hand-made items often have irregular edges. Process these individually with a finer model.

  4. 04

    Re-upload to Etsy

Replace the images on existing listings. Etsy does not have a bulk upload for images, so this is per-listing.

Tips

  • —Etsy recommends 2000 pixels on the longest side.
  • —The first image is the thumbnail. Make it the cleanest shot.
  • —Etsy now allows video. Process video the same way.
  • —Consistency across your shop matters. If your first 20 listings are white and the next 20 are grey, it looks broken.

Common questions

Can I use a mockup background instead of white?

Yes. Process with Transparent output, then composite in the editor over a plain mockup background.

What about digital downloads?

Digital products can be previewed with a transparent or white background. Same workflow.

Does Etsy allow watermarks?

No. Etsy removes listings with watermarks. Remova never adds them.
