Tips

  • —If the JPG has compression artifacts around edges, the cutout may have small fringes. The editor can clean these.
  • —JPGs with a flat background (product shots, passport photos) produce the cleanest cutouts.
  • —If the JPG is very low resolution, upload the highest resolution version you have. Upscaling does not help.
  • —For photos with heavy shadows, expect the shadow to be removed along with the background.

Common questions

Why is my JPG not transparent by default?

The JPG format does not support transparency. Only PNG, WebP, and GIF do.

Can I convert back to JPG with white background?

Yes. Set the output to White instead of Transparent.

Will the PNG file size be larger?

Usually yes. PNG is lossless, so it stores more data than JPG. Expect roughly 2-3x the file size.
